Job Summary:
The Lease Operator is responsible for monitoring production, reporting well information, and performing maintenance on production equipment. This role combines routine operations with some advanced technical tasks, applying knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gauge production on assigned wells and record readings, downtime, and well data.

  • Perform lease maintenance including minor surface pump and equipment repairs, grease pumping units, trim weeds, and clean areas.

  • Report problems or recommend actions to supervisors to optimize production and minimize costs.

  • Assist with meter calibrations, monitor injection and disposal wells, chemical use, and safety systems.

  • Participate in daily production meetings, monthly safety meetings, and quarterly well reviews.

  • Utilize SCADA systems to monitor well performance and respond to alarms.

  • Ensure safe and environmentally compliant operations of wells and equipment.

  • Perform additional tasks as required by the supervisor for the assigned area.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 2 years of lease operator experience or related field preferred.

  • Eligibility to drive company vehicles.

  • Knowledge of safe oil and gas production operations.

  • Basic computer skills; MS Word and Excel knowledge is a plus.

  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of surface and subsurface equipment.

  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work with exposure to extreme heat/cold, fumes, and gases.

  • Noise from construction and equipment operations.

  • Potential exposure to H2S and other hazards.

  • Overtime may be required.

Physical Demands:

  • Finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for computer and equipment operation.

  • Frequent lifting of 50–75 pounds.

  • Standing, walking, sitting, and driving over rough terrain.

Compensation:

  • Salary commensurate with experience.
