 OSA Supervisor – Job

Location: Eastern Province, Jubail, Saudi Arabia

Job Description:
The On-Stream Analyzer (OSA) Supervisor is responsible for leading all activities related to on-stream analyzers, ensuring operational efficiency, reliability, and compliance with company standards. The role involves direct supervision, technical oversight, and strategic alignment with corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the On-Stream Analyzer Team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.

  • Serve as the primary focal point for all OSA activities and operations on-site.

  • Align OSA objectives and goals with corporate strategy, ensuring team performance contributes to business outcomes.

  • Plan and allocate resources effectively, set priorities, and ensure tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and on time.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for equipment performance, team productivity, and process efficiency.

  • Plan operating and capital budgets for OSA activities, ensuring adherence to financial constraints.

  • Ensure continuous training and development programs are in place and effective for all team members.

  • Maintain and improve equipment reliability, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Implement industry best practices, benchmarking OSA performance against similar industries.

  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Security, Environment, Quality, and IT policies.

  • Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation plans for business continuity.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives, review workflows, and debottleneck operations.

  • Participate in audits, investigations, and procedural reviews, providing recommendations for management approval.

  • Foster a strong safety culture within the team, ensuring zero violations in HSE and quality standards.

  • Monitor team performance, delegate tasks effectively, and manage workload distribution.

  • Recruit and onboard personnel, execute disciplinary actions per company policy, and support professional growth.

  • Enhance communication and build trust among internal stakeholders and key customers.

  • Ensure high-quality results from OSA to optimize process control, reduce giveaways, and improve safety functions.

  • Correlate OSA results with laboratory data to improve redundancy and reduce lab sample dependency.

  • Drive innovation by implementing new ideas and technological improvements in analyzer operations.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Extensive experience with On-Stream Analyzer operations in refining or petrochemical plants.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of process control, analytical instruments, and refinery operations.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, planning, and decision-making abilities.

  • Knowledge of HSE standards and quality management systems.

  • Budget planning and financial oversight experience.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
